Genre Analysis

Choose 5 successful films within your genre- choose some you have seen and some you haven’t

(use amazon, blockbuster and IMDB to find films within the genre)

Watch clips and trailers of each film and make notes on a word document.


Once you have watched them all:

Answer the following questions on your blog based on the research:

1) What are the typical character types in these films
2) What sort of settings do you see
3) What sorts of props are used
4) What are the typical storylines of that genre

DISCUSS AND PUT ON GROUP BLOG
Choose your actors
Choose your costumes (that fit the actor)
Choose your locations (go onto google streetview to search) upload images to your blog

Create an animatic (take still photos and put them in an iMovie timeline
Make a bullet point list of all the shots you NEED to film (to take with you on the shoot)
Make sure your story board is detailed and annotated

If there is any dialogue IT MUST BE SCRIPTED
